Flavors of Deception

Daniel's misbehavior was always selfish and shallow, but it was never malicious or even well-informed. I'm not excusing his behavior, but I doubt that it ever occurred to him that he was using women. On the other hand, Sofia very well knew that she was using him.

Sofia's tearful apology at the studio wasn't credible - if she'd really been sorry, she would have waited till later to dump him, rather than humiliate him on live TV. So I think she's still playing with him.

I'm guessing that Sofia has been used before, and she knows what it feels like. So why does she do it to other people? I suppose she feels like she's paying it forward, getting her retroactive revenge.

Sofia's deception may or may not have helped her career and boosted the circulation of MYW. However, over the long term, it's just possible that it will benefit Daniel more than it did her, if the lesson he gets out of it is that hurting people sucks.

Plus, it just cost Sofia the best assistant she ever could have wished for.
